10 Little Known Yet Highly Useful Features Of Gmail!

Gmail, Google, Features, Emails, Google Drive, Google Hangouts, video callsThere's a lot that Gmail has loaded in its kitty! Did you know? 

Most of us use Gmail! We contend it provides everything, is easy to use and gets the job done! Your Emails get segregated into Primary, Social and Promotional, Google Drive gives you up to 15GB of free storage, Google Hangouts allow you to video chat supporting up to 10 video calls, and what not! Impressive, right? However, the list doesn't end here, on the contrary it offers infinite more!
Here is a list of 10 such features that are not over hyped yet decently useful:

1. Advanced shortcuts

-Range from shortcuts to opening a new window to composing a message or moving a conversation to the Bin.

-Go to the Gear box in the top right corner > Settings > Keyboard Shortcuts > Keyboard shortcuts on > Save changes to enable these extensive shortcuts.

2. Switching accounts

-If you have two Gmail accounts and want to open both of them in the same browser at the same time all you have to do is click on your email address in the top right corner, and select Add account.

3. Keyboard shortcuts

-Ctrl + Enter means send message; Ctrl + . means advance to next window; Ctrl + Shift + c means add Cc recipients; Ctrl + Shift + b means add Bcc recipients.

4. To-do lists

-Click on Mail > Tasks and a small task bar will pop up at the bottom. Just fill in your to-do list and add in a due date if you want Gmail to remind you about it.

5. Multiple email addresses

-Add a full stop to your email address. Google will send the same emails to sammp@gmail.com and to sam.mp@gmail.com.

6. Backup your messages

-Sign up for a backup email account then you can set up your Gmail account so it forwards emails into the primary Inbox.
-Follow Settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP. Select 'Forward a copy of incoming mail to' and fill in your email address.

7. Gmail warns you on attachments

-Searches for the word “attachment” in the mail, and warns you upon hitting the send button if you have not attached any file.

8. Star your important emails

-It is often tedious to find the mails which are important. To answer the issue Gmail has come up with the 'Star' system where you can star the important mails.

9. Save attachments directly to Google Drive

-Gmail users can view and save the attachments directly to the Google Drive without having to leave opened mail.

10. Faster loading

-Switch to a basic version of Gmail which will load faster just by adding ?ui=html to the standard Gmail URL.
