Nvidia has reportedly contributed with software that will allow Linux to make use of the graphics processing power of the company’s new Tegra K1 mobile chip. This has made Linux founder Linux Torvalds happy. Commenting on the move, Torvalds said on Google+, “This time I’m raising a thumb for Nvidia. Good times.” This is a big change from the last time Torvalds the company, when he had offered them a middle finger. |
Although Linux hasn’t entire been popular in this department, having an open source driver should make it easier for developers and programmers. Otherwise, it is tough for programmers to keep the apps up to date and also to debug them.
